Rugged nature and luxury needn’t be mutually exclusive – a concept effortlessly realised when you check-in at the Sustainable Tourism accredited, Bina Maya Yallingup Escape. Standing on Wadandi Boodja (Saltwater people) land, amongst native Australian bushland that dances with light, three self-contained villas provide the ultimate soulful retreat. (“Bina” translates to light of the morning while “Maya” means our house in local First Nations language.) Sustainably built with a brief to blur the line between indoors and out, a stay here has all the trappings of a hotel experience but is family owned and operated. While all three accommodation options promise wood fires, a fully-equipped kitchen and locally made organic toiletries, the newest – Villa Two – comes with an outdoor stone bathtub for a soak under the stars and private outdoor fire pit. There are Margaret River wineries and famous surf breaks at your doorstep, but when you can order in private chef services, massage, facials, and yoga classes, why would you ever leave?
