Carved into a grass-tufted dune on the Mornington Peninsula, Camillo House is like an immersion program in redefining hedonism – the slow way. The three-level beach shack, renovated sensitively to honour its 80s bones and tranquil location, is an art-lover’s escape where design flair meets earthy luxury. Filled with art and reclaimed decor from local and international creatives, this Slow Stay is made for soul-quenching moments with friends. From the sunken living area – complete with fireplace and custom-made furniture – to an upstairs retreat and bar (the negronis are on Camillo!) there’s no shortage of spaces to retreat to either. Four decks, a slow-soak timber bath by Wood and Water in the family ensuite, plus an outdoor bath allow for max relaxation. Follow the Bass Strait breeze, through the fully equipped cook’s kitchen to a stepped-yard shrouded by native bushland for stargazing around the fire pit. Stone’s throw from your sequestered spot, cellar doors, sculpture parks, orchards and hot springs, as well as award-winning paddock-to-plate restaurants, are worth wandering for – if you can pull your sated senses away, that is. Â
