If you’re after peace and quiet, Liptrap Loft on its five-acre property with no neighbours is the epitome of ‘alone time’. Just over two hours south of Melbourne in South Gippsland, you’ll feel like you’ve jumped the Tasman and landed in a remote part of Tasmania with the area’s rugged coastline and stunning secluded beaches. The house has everything you need and rustic charm to boot, with all of the building and furnishings either recycled or handmade. But we love the Japanese bath house and outdoor solar shower most of all. Drink in the scent of eucalyptus as you spot the locals – echidnas, wallabies, kangaroos, wombats and blue tongue lizards.
