Perfectly positioned to drink in the pristine east coast of Tasmania, and mere sandy footsteps from Beaumaris Beach, Moonbird Beach Shack is a bolthole for dreamers. Days revolve around surf checks and sea-swept hikes, journeys to the nearby MTB trails of St Helens and Derby, and afternoons unwinding with craft beers and burgers at the local pub. Rinse off under the outdoor shower then kick back in the hammock in the coastal native gardens as yellow tail black cockatoos whorl overhead. Yoga mats are also provided for DIY beach sessions. There’s a deep Japanese-style tub with organic Tasmanian bath salts in the bathroom and a Nectre wood-fired heater to cosy up beside in the winter months as you play cards and board games, or wrap yourself up in a woollen wrap with a good book. Beautifully styled and filled with curios and artworks, you’ll find it almost impossible to leave this heartfelt shack. If you’re travelling with older kids, there’s also a downstairs bunk room that can be added for an additional cost.
