Southern Wilds – Beachcombers
Dover, TAS, Australia • Sleeps 2 | Bedroom 1 | Bathrooms 2
You know you’re in a place of comfort when you feel enveloped from the moment you arrive. Though there are treats to lure you out of your burrow, you don’t want to leave. On the lands of the Lyluequonny people, Southern Wilds – Beachcombers is a former boat-building shed reimagined as a boutique bolthole where the aurora dances on the horizon and you can take in the vivid show while swaddled in the south-facing lounge room. With a meditation nook, record player, board games and books, unplugged and analogue is the modus operandi here. And why wouldn’t it be with the clear night skies of Tasmania’s far south draped above your head. Light the firepit in the back patio area and let the stories seep from the mountains and the waters of Esperance Bay, from the local artworks, and the generations of wanderers who have come before you to this special place, almost at the end of the earth. Once your eyelids are too heavy to take any more in, retreat to the flax-draped king bed and succumb to your circadian rhythm, with a new flutter in your heartbeat.
