The Postman’s Cottage at Montville Estate
Montville, QLD, Australia • Sleeps 2 | Bedroom 1 | Bathroom 1
You can almost feel the serendipitous moment the new owners of Montville Estate stumbled upon the pretty pink Queenslander and adjoining cottage as you step onto the grounds of this beautifully restored property in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. There’s magic in the air here. A stone’s throw from Montville’s village vibes, The Postman’s Cottage was named in homage to the original homestead (est. 1895) being the first Receiving Office for mail, when letters and parcels would come by foot and horseback up the range. Transported into the 21st century through plenty of elbow grease and many hours spent scouring salvage yards and vintage furniture collectors, the result is a dreamy hideaway for two or, perhaps, a solitude spot for one. Free from the technological clutches of TV and WiFi, you’re instead welcomed to reconnect over board games, soaking in the clawfoot bath, and slow sunshine-filled mornings spent reading on the deck.

“I want people to be inspired and creative in the space… to feel more open and free, and light in a soft and luxurious way.”
