The Sir George
Jugiong, NSW, Australia • 3 x Heritage Stable Rooms (Sleeps 2) | 8 x Luxury Black Barns (Sleeps 2)
Epitomising the next generation of cosy pub stays, The Sir George in Jugiong – one-and-a-half hours from Canberra – marries boutique accommodation, country hospitality and a beautiful pub that heroes fresh, local ingredients. The 1984 stone stables have been converted into three luxurious suites, with reclaimed oak flooring while eight pitched-roof Black Barns provide a modern representation of the original out-buildings. With shou-sugi ban charred cladding hiding self-insulating panels, their sustainable construction is complemented by luxury flax linen, environmentally sound body products and natural fibres . When you’re not catching up on long overdue Zs, wander the beautiful gardens to the restaurant in the neighbouring stone pub. Before you leave, be sure to visit their artisanal bakery (known for the best slow fermented sourdough in the area).
