This is a farm stay, but not as you know it – a sustainably-minded, architecturally designed guest house sits amongst the paddocks on a 107-acre working cattle farm in the coastal hamlet of Denmark in Western Australia’s Great Southern region. Clad in iron ash, the striking property at Upland Farm overlooks neighbouring vineyards and is built to harness the natural heating and cooling provided by nature. Take a walk amongst the 100 acres at your doorstep and find yourself amongst the giant karri trees that sprout from the centre of the farm. Then again, the interiors are so gorgeous you’ll probably be happy to sit with a book or glass of wine and forget about doing anything at all.
