Set on 75 acres with bucolic surrounds, you won’t have to worry about neighbours or noise when you settle in for a stay at Shellback – just drink in the views of Wilsons Promontory across the ocean and keep your eyes peeled for wedge-tail eagles and black cockatoos. The lower third of the property has been dedicated to wildlife conservation, so grab the binoculars for your chance of spotting the kangaroos, koalas, wombats and echidnas that call this place home. Sleeping up to seven – and with a cubby house, cricket and bocce sets, table tennis, and a stack of board games – the three-bedroom abode makes an ideal family escape. Outside doggies are welcome, too. Pack your hiking boots; a map of trails will lead you to walking trails and past the several creeks that run through the bushland, without leaving the property.
