Travel back in time at this charmingly preserved cottage built in the 1890’s from bark stripped from the local peppermint and stringy bark gum trees. Once housing a family of timber cutters who lived here with their 9 children this is one of the few remaining huts of its kind. Restored in 2017, the preservation of the building was carefully considered, adorned with fine linens, homely textures and interesting objects of a by-gone era. Light a fire and read a good book armed with hot chocolate and marshmallows (provided), or enjoy the outdoor seating with a cheese platter and bottle of wine while you spot the local wildlife including kangaroos, wombats and lyrebirds.
