Who hasn’t dreamed of running away and living in a bus at some stage? The Bus Hideaway has been a slow project – our favourite kind – lovingly tinkered away at for seven years, with the end result a sustainable, earthy abode. Parked up overlooking the Tamar Valley in the quiet town of Hillwood near a 100-year-old shearing shed, the articulated ‘85 bus is filled with upcycled second-hand materials, handmade items and locally sourced products. Proving small can still be luxurious, there’s a toasty wood fireplace, organic, fair-trade linen and towels, kitchen, library and even a guitar waiting for you to have a strum.
